・「アイルランドトロフィー」が初めてＧIIレースに格上げ ・賞金総額 ￥120,000,000 - 1着賞金 ￥55,000,000 ・外交関係樹立60周年を記念し、アイルランドファンゾーンを展開



アイルランドと日本の外交関係樹立60周年を迎えた今年、毎年10月に東京競馬場で開催されているレース「アイルランドトロフィー」が初めてオープン特別競走からＧIIレースに格上げされ、10月14日（土）、「アイルランドトロフィー府中牝馬ステークス」として開催されることとなりました。当日はぜひ多くの皆様に東京競馬場にお集まりいただき、秋の一日をお楽しみいただきたく、ご案内申し上げます。

駐日アイルランド大使アン・バリントンは次のように述べています。
「今度の土曜日、ＧIIレースとなった『アイルランドトロフィー府中牝馬ステークス』が当日のメインレースとして開催されることを嬉しく存じます。これは、アイルランドと日本の外交関係樹立60周年のハイライトの一つとなる行事であり、両国の絆をさらに強くするものです。」

「アイルランド競馬協会（HRI）とも繋がりの強い、日本中央競馬会（JRA）の皆様の友情とご支援なくしては、このレースは実現し得ないものでした。アイルランドは、世界第4位、EU内では第1位のサラブレッド産地です。私の願いは、近い将来、アイルランドのサラブレッドが日本の国際競争に参戦し、また、日本のサラブレッドがアイルランドで行われる世界最高レベルのレースに参戦する、ということです。」

「また、JRAと株式会社LA DITTAのご協力により、レース開催当日、東京競馬場の馬場内特設エリアにアイルランドファンゾーンが展開されることを喜ばしく存じます。ザ・クルーラカーン、シェイマス・オハラ、Grab & Grogといったアイリッシュパブの店舗が出店し、アイルランドの料理やお酒を味わっていただけるほか、奥貫史子さん・野口明生さん・下田理さんによるアイルランド伝統音楽の演奏もお楽しみいただけます。ぜひお越しください。」

Ireland fan zone at venue marks 60 years of diplomatic relations


The Embassy of Ireland in Japan is pleased to announce that the Ireland Trophy Fuchu Himba Stakes horserace, which will take place on Saturday 14 October, has been promoted to a G2 from a Class 4 race for the first time, and invites members of the public to visit Tokyo Racecourse, Fuchu, to take part in the fun this weekend.

Ireland’s Ambassador to Japan, Ms. Anne Barrington, said: “I’m delighted that the Ireland Trophy Fuchu Himba Stakes has been promoted to Group 2 classification for the first time, making it the most significant racing event in Japan this coming Saturday. It is yet another highlight of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations, which we are celebrating this year, and further cements the strong bond between Ireland and Japan.

“This would not have been possible without the friendship and support of Japan Racing Association, which has strong links with its Irish counterparts, Horse Racing Ireland. Ireland is the largest producer of Thoroughbred foals in the EU, and fourth in the world, and my hope is that someday soon an Irish Thoroughbred will travel to Japan and compete here, and that Japanese Thoroughbreds will travel to Ireland and compete in one of our world class races.

“I am also delighted that the Japan Racing Association, in partnership with La Ditta Limited, have organised an Ireland fan zone in the in-field fan area that will feature food, music and drinks. There will be plenty on offer from Irish pubs The Cluracan, Seamus O’Hara’s and Grab & Grog, who will serve up food and drink for hungry and thirsty race-goers throughout the day. Live traditional Irish music will be performed on the day by Ayako Okunuki, Akio Noguchi and Osamu Shimoda and shouldn’t be missed.

“Finally, I would like to wish all the jockeys, owners, breeders and punters the best of luck, and congratulations in advance to those who will claim some of the ￥120,000,000 prize money!”
